President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked ministers from his cabinet in what is an extraordinary move for his management.
The dismissal of the Minister of electricity, Sale Mamman, and Minister of Agriculture and Rural development, Sabo Nanono, was made known to the public . after the Federal executive Council (FEC) assembly on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. The Minister of environment, Mohammad Mahmood, was being redeployed to assume the position of Minister of Agriculture and Rural development; and the Minister of state for Works, and Housing, Abubakar Aliyu, was appointed the new Minister of electricity.
Mamman and Nanono are the firstministers to be sacked by President Buhari from the day he assumed office in 2015.
he is known to stick with his cabinet appointees, specifically staving off severe public pressure to reshuffle the p.c. at some stage in his first term.
Buhari said at Wednesday’s FEC meeting the reshuffle is to deepen his government’s capability to consolidate on its legacy achievements.
He stated that the dismissal of the 2ministers was based totally on ‘independent and vital self-evaluation’ of the administration’s projects and programmes.
“these great review steps have helped to discover and beef up vulnerable regions, close gaps, construct brotherly love and synergy in governance, control the economy and enhance the transport of public goods to Nigerians,” he stated.
The seventy eight-yr-old said that greatnominations can be made to fill the twoopen vacancies as a result of Wednesday’s dismissals.
