The President of Nigeria, in the person of Major General Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, gas launched the eNaira Platform.
The eNaira is a result of several years of hard work and research by the Central bank of Nigeria with hope of advancing the boundaries of payment systems in order to make financial transactions seamless and easy for every stratum of society.
eNaira as described by the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele was said to be the first of its kind in Africa and one of the earliest around the world.

In his words: “Mr President, today you make history, and yet again, with the launch of the eNaira platform – the first in Africa and one of the earliest around the world.
“Mr. President, as you make groundbreaking reforms, there has been continuing debate concerning the true value of the Naira.
“Rather than to worry today on the direction of the exchange rate, let us take a quick step back and analyse how we got here in the first place.”
