Gov Ikpeazu Sacks ASEPA Deputy General Manager Aba Zone

The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu has withdrawn the services of the Deputy General Manager, Aba zone of Abia state Environmental protection Agency from Rowland Nwakanma by presenting him a sack letter.

From what the  Secretary to the State Government, Barr Chris Ezem, said,  Ikpeazu in a press release also dissolved all LG Waste Management Zonal Heads in Aba except Aba-Owerri Road, Ikot Ekpene Road and Express.

He warned, “the Government will henceforth, not condone any form of lapses in waste management in Aba and Umuahia and immediately expect immediate evacuation of all residual wastes in all locations around the cities of Aba and Umuahia without any delay”.

The governor went further to say that all sweepers in the area are not affected and should continue their duties to keep the roads clean.

He went futher to award the state Commissioner for Environment, Sam Nwogu the position to take over and oversee waste management in the zones, putting the commissioner on serious mandate to “immediately advertise for the engagement of professional waste managers to handle the various zones”.
