At the end of this post.. you should be able to brag with the words “no body can hack my account”. without taking much of your time, let’s get started immediately.

What is Facebook?

Facebook is a social networking site bragging with millions of monthly users that makes connecting and sharing with family and friends online easy and possible.

Facebook is an American multinational conglomerate based in Menlo Park, California. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, along with his fellow roommates and students at Harvard College.

Having known what Facebook is, let’s get to how you can protect your account from hackers.

1. Get a strong password.

This is where most scammers scale through easily.. once your password is predictable. Your account is vulnerable to hack. Try using a strong password combination. An example of a strong password should contain a number, letters, one capital letter, and some special characters. Something like $Mark9874 is recommended.. Like this, you are sure nobody can break your password codes.

2. Avoid logging in on other device.

Whether its your friends phone or a cyber café. Be careful while logging in on those devices. While logging in on friends phone, check out for screen records. He or she can on a screen record to record your password as you type. And make sure you don’t save your password on their device.

Also remember to log out and remove account from phone for each login section. When you get your phone. Don’t forget to hit the log out from all device button.

3. Check your fb details page.

Some hackers can change your email and phone number once they have logged into your Device. But decide to keep you logged in till their main aim is achieved.. Then they can log you out and that’s the end. Always check the fb details page and remove anything suspicious you didn’t add.

4. Remove notification from showing on locked screen.

Once scammers get your Facebook number. They will try to reset your password whenever your phone is around. You can lock your phone with pattern or password, lock your apps but your account will still get hacked.. you will keep asking how? While your phone is locked, scammers around can go for a change of password with your number. And when Facebook sends the code, it appears on your lock screen as notification. From there, they can easily copy the code without stress and reset your password from there. That’s why I advice people to remove notification from showing on locked screen. This helps keep the change of password confirmation code safe.

5. Add an Email to your account.

Adding your email address to your fb account can help when it comes to account recovery. It adds more security to your account.

6. Use two factor authentication.

This feature sends an authentication message to your phone each time you or a hacker tries to log in to your account. You can use this through third-party software or Facebook’s verification mechanism.

When logging in, you receive a unique code that will enable you to access Facebook in that session only. Once the session has ended, you will need to receive another authentication message to access your account once more. Nice right?

I know it is super inconvenient to go through all that instead of a once-click login. It is, however, better to be safe than sorry. Hackers are everywhere.

7. Know the website you login to.

Some hackers can create an exact look of Facebook login page and prompt you to login. Before logging in. First confirm that the web address in the browser is

Don’t login if you see a different web address there. What it does is to carry your login details to the hackers. And your account becomes history.

8. Always clean up your browser:

It is very advisable to clean up your browser every once in awhile….

Most phishing and virus activities are especially found in porn and torrent sites. If you are a frequent visitor (not judging), always clear your data before someone gains access to your authentication details.

If that seems like much of a hustle, just download an adware removal tool to take care of that for you. The next person trying to hack you will not find the ones and zeros he/she is phishing for. A good way to save your account.

At the end of this quick guide.. I believe you have learnt the steps to keep not just your Facebook account safe. But also keep your various social media handles save too.. if the information was helpful.. Share it and let’s know what you think about this in the comment box below
