Obi Cubana released by the EFCC after 3 nights in custody

Obinna Iyiegbu, popularily known as Obi Cubana, The business tycoon, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Obi Cubana was released on Thursday evening after severe questioning and interrogation by operatives of the commission for exactly 72 hours.

Cubana, the Anambra-born tycoon was arrested on monday by the EFCC over the allegations of money laundering and evasion of tax.

Wilson Uwujar, the EFCC spokesman confirmed the release of the billionaire as reported by The Guardian.

“It is true”, Uwujaren said while refusing to attend to further comment on the matter.

A source at the commission made it known that Cubana would be prosecuted for the allegations that has been levied against him.

Obi Cubana, who has spent three night with the EFCC, according to the source was released after he made perfect his bail conditions.

Cubana has arrived the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi Abuja at about noon on Monday November 1, 2021.

The EFCC as reported confiscated the passport of the businessman, to prevent him from leaving the country while under massive investigation.

We couldn’t confirm whether his passport was given back to him after he regained his freedom.
