According to him, the UK Government has proposed sticking to its standard background lines.  The United Kindom won’t remove the travel ban it has placed on Nigeria and other countries in Africa.

As a means to prevent the spread of the Omicron Variant, the UK placed a travel ban on Nigeria on Sunday, 5th December 2021. They went further to suspend visitor visa applications from most African countries.

This came immediately after Nigeria was added to travel ban list.

Nigeria has threatened to reciprocate the banning by banning flights from UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Argentina.

“As they have done to us, if they have refused to allow our citizens to their country, who are the coming to pick from our country as airlines?”

“We won’t allow them in, I’m sure in the next 3 days, all the country will be on red list” Fumed the Nigerian Aviation Minister.

The UK has promised not to move an inch with their decision even after listening to Nigerian’s threats.

“Government of the UK propose sticking to our standard background lines on whether ‘x’ country will put us on the red list and avoid getting into hypothetical situations,” a spokesperson for the British High Commission, Dean Hurlock, made this known to Punch newspaper.

Hurlock mentioned that Britain had made clearly stated that travel abroad would be different this year.

The UK spokesperson had also revealed to the newspaper that: “The position stated in our press release of last weekend still stands at present.
