In a strategic move to enhance its AI initiatives and Siri, Apple has made an executive shift. Kim Vorrath, who played a key role in launching the Vision Pro software and has been with Apple for 36 years, is now joining the artificial intelligence and machine learning division as a “top deputy” to AI leader John Giannandrea, according to Bloomberg.

The rollout of these features has been gradual, and a major Siri update that would allow it to comprehend on-screen content and respond accordingly may not be available until iOS 18.4.
Additionally, the AI-driven news notification summaries will be paused with iOS 18.3 due to feedback about inaccuracies.
By appointing Vorrath, who has experience with the original iPhone software team, to the AI division, it seems Apple is aiming to strengthen its AI development process.
This shift suggests that Apple may view AI as a more significant aspect of its future than the Vision Pro.
Bloomberg also notes that the artificial intelligence team is concentrating on overhauling Siri’s foundational infrastructure and enhancing the company’s internal AI models this year, as stated in a memo from Giannandrea.
